Mary Louise Brown is a lifelong resident of Sumner County. She grew up in Castalian Springs in Tennessee, and now she currently resides in Hendersonville. She received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Middle Tennessee State University with a minor in math. During her time as an undergrad student, Mrs. Brown studied for a semester in England at Harlaxton College the English campus of the University of Evansville. Mrs. Brown received her master's degree from Cumberland University in curriculum development. She has two children – Mary Katherine (10th grade) and Trey (8th grade) – who attend Merrol Hyde Magnet School. Mrs. Brown enjoys reading, gardening, sewing, and spending time with her children.
Mrs. Brown taught at Bethpage Elementary School from 1987 to 2000. She has been teaching at MHMS since the elementary wing first opened in 2004. Mrs. Brown has taught all elementary school grades, but she has taught second grade the longest: from 1993 to today. She has begun teaching 6th and 7th grade world history.
