Lani Skeith

Lani Skeith has been teaching at Merrol Hyde Magnet since its beginning in 2003. She taught fifth grade the first four years, and in 2007 she began teaching 6th and 7th grade math. She was named the MHMS Teacher of the Year in 2012. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Illinois. She earned a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Instructional Coaching from Lipscomb University. She has been in the teaching profession for over 35 years. She is the Past-President of the North Central Reading Association and has served on the Board of the Tennessee Reading Association. Lani and her husband, Kevin, have two children, Trevor and Valerie, who both graduated from Merrol Hyde. She has one grandpuppy, Thor. She’s a soccer mom at heart and enjoys going to Nashville SC soccer games.
