Merrol Hyde Magnet School

Welcome to the MHMS PTO

The mission of the MHMS Parent Teacher Organization is to build a strong sense of community and a strong foundation of support to the students, faculty, administration and families at MHMS. The PTO will provide a mechanism where everyone can come together to identify the student and teacher resource needs, freely express and exchange ideas, and establish and achieve goals that will enrich our children's educational experience.

MHMS parents,

Our PTO has traditionally partnered with families to fund the needs of our school through a $100 donation per student. We use this approach because we do not want to ask our students to participate in fundraisers in which they are required to sell items.  If you are unable to donate all at once, you may do so at a later date or in installments.  If you are able to do so, please consider an incremental donation to help cover another student or family this year.  Thank-you for your support of the MHMS PTO!  If you would like to make a donation, please send a check to the school office made out to MHMS PTO.

We do participate in a few Passive Fundraisers. Click this link to see details: PASSIVE FUNDRAISER FLYER

Thank you to everyone who participates in any of these programs!  Last school year, we raised $6250 through these passive fundraisers:

Shared Vision

Merrol Hyde Magnet School is a unique, K-12 learning community that uses the Paideia philosophy of educating the whole child--mind, body, and spirit--to meet the needs of students.  We will provide intentional, rigorous, accelerated college-preparatory instruction focused on humanities and critical and creative thinking.

We will create a collaborative community where students and teachers actively engage in continual growth and learning, seek out and civilly discuss diverse ideas and values, and pursue solutions to enrich their lives and the lives of others.
