Angela Lewis joined the MHMS Faculty in 2014. Currently, she teaches Marketing I and II, Entrepreneurship, Advertising & Public Relations, and serves as DECA Co-Advisor. Mrs. Lewis’ love for Marketing & Communications began in high school when she helped build a cable television station as part of the curriculum and developed news packages with other classmates for weekly broadcast. This made a profound impact on her life by identifying her career track early. During college, Mrs. Lewis worked to gain experience through jobs and internships in radio and television broadcasting, sales and marketing, and media relations. After graduation, Mrs. Lewis launched into agency where she managed the national Conoco-Phillips account, coordinating strategic Marketing efforts, Advertising, and Public Relations on a national level. There, she managed marketing for 1,000 stores and was responsible for a $5,000,000 budget. Mrs. Lewis later became Public Information Officer for the Hamilton County Schools in Chattanooga and was also Executive Director of the system’s non-profit foundation, The Fund for Excellence (FFE). There, Mrs. Lewis was responsible for Public Relations efforts for 81 schools, the Board of Education, Superintendent of Schools, and the Central Office; and also spearheaded system-wide fundraising through FFE. After seven years with Hamilton County Schools, Mrs. Lewis became an entrepreneur, launching her own agency called The PR Group. During that time, she also taught college-level PR courses at Southern Adventist University. The next phase and most important role of her life became raising a family. After several years, she re-entered the workforce and began sharing her professional experience with a new generation of Marketing and Communications students at MHMS. Mrs. Lewis has a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations from Harding University, a Master of Science in Communications Management from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and a Master of Arts in Education from Union University. She and her husband, Keith, have two daughters that graduated from Merrol Hyde.
