MHMS Hawks Athletics
The Paideia philosophy of educating the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—is one of the core values at MHMS. To achieve this, and to promote a positive culture of spirit and pride within the student body, all students in grades 7-12 are required to participate in a school sport each year. Students must attend all practices, games, and/or performances in order to fulfill this requirement. As you think about the sport(s) you would like to play, keep these things in mind: transportation to away games and off-site facilities is not provided by the school; and 8th graders are allowed to participate in some high school sports. Students enrolling at MHMS after a team has conducted tryouts will be offered a supplemental tryout.
Each student-athlete must have a current sports physical each year in order to participate. Physical packets are available on our school athletics website. The entire packet is required to be completed and should be returned to Kory Craighead (athletic director) or to the athlete’s coach. We encourage you to keep a copy of the physical at home.
Completed physical packets can be brought to the school on registration night or ATTN: Mr. Craighead, or faxed (615-264-6546).
