Staff Bios
Sharon Fleming
is the PLATO/Learning Lab supervisor for middle and high schools
students. She began working as a substitute teacher at MHMS in
2004 and joined the staff in 2005 as an elementary assistant
teacher. She primarily supported kindergarten and first grade.
Prior to working at school, Sharon was an analyst with the
Federal Reserve Bank and a project manager with a technical
writing and training development company in Nashville. She has a
B.A. and an M.A. degree in Economics. She enjoys reading,
gardening, and spending time with her family. She has one child
who attends MHMS.
Susan Holcraft
elementary teaching assistant at MHMS, graduated from Texas
Tech University with a B.S. in Secondary Education specializing
in Business. For five years, she taught a variety of classes
such as business English, business math, several computer
applications and accounting at International Business College in
Lubbock, Texas. She then taught fast-track business classes for
one year at South Plains College also in Lubbock, Texas. A move
to the Nashville area and a long-awaited pregnancy gave way to a
stay-at-home mother for several years. She is a mother of three
whom all attend Merrol Hyde and has one stepson who is a United
States Marine. Her stepson, Jason, has served two terms in Iraq.
Susan and her husband, Jack, met in Lubbock where they were
married and had their first daughter, Taylor. Then seven years
later soon after their move to the Nashville area, their second
daughter, Riley, arrived. Finally their son, Drake, arrived 21
months after Riley. She also has one grandson, Kevin, who is the
same age as Drake. Susan enjoys movies, music, dancing, her
church and her family.
Kim Malone One of the teaching assistants for grades
kindergarten thru fifth. Kim is married and blessed with three
amazing sons. One is a graduate of Merrol Hyde and attends UT
Knoxville, her second son is currently attending Merrol Hyde and
her third is in middle school. Kim Attended college for 3 1/2
years with a concentration in nursing and psychology. Kim enjoys
traveling, board games, reading, jazz, theatricals,
participating in her sons activities and walking. She is very
grateful for what Merrol Hyde Magnet School represents, the
staff, the students, and the positive effects it has all had on
the Malone family.
Julianne McCoy is a graduate of the University of
Alabama with a BA in Communication (1990). She earned her
Masters in Elementary Education from the University of South
Alabama in 1993. Julianne and her husband Todd, a DuPont
engineer, moved to Hendersonville in the summer of 1994. They
have two sons, David and Paul, who both attend Merrol Hyde.
After a few years of teaching at the elementary and preschool
levels, Julianne is excited to be working in Merrol Hyde's two
fabulous libraries as an assistant and clerk.
