Future Business Leaders of America
FBLA is an integral part of middle and high
school business education programs in many
Tennessee schools. Through the FBLA
organization, students are preparing for
success as leaders in business, government,
and communities. Tennessee FBLA is proud to
boast that FBLA originated in Johnson City,
Tennessee, in 1942 and quickly spread to
other states. FBLA is now the largest youth
organization in the world.
Our mission is to bring business and
education together in a positive working
relationship through innovative leadership
and career development programs.
The MHMS FBLA club has already begun a fun
and exciting new year. We meet every
Monday at lunch. We will spend time
learning and creating new leaders for our
future businesses in America.
Attention:
Over this summer,
June 26-39, Nineteen students traveled to
Atlanta Georgia to compete at FBLA
Nationals. All students either competed in
competitive events or in open tests as well
as attending Seminars. Competing against
over 7000 kids around the nation, one of our
very own MHMS students, Junior Seth Patton
placed in his topic. Competing in two
rounds, Seth placed 7th in
Desktop Application Programming. Seth is
the first student to place in nationals for
our School. Congratulations Seth!
This year FBLA will
be putting on many fundraisers to raise
money for state and national competition,
which will be in Anahiem California this
year. The first fundraiser/event is our
annual recruitment party which will be
Saturday August 23, 2008. Also remember
throughout the year to bring in coke tabs.
This year we will also continue to collect
used printer cartridges for redemption by
our sponsor Cartridge World.
Meetings will be
held every Tuesday at Lunch in Mrs. Storey's
room.
